S Kazakhstan flood damage could reach KZT 1 bln 185 mln

SHYMKENT. March 26.KAZINFORM Houses, roads and bridges were affected by flooding in South Kazakhstan region February his year. Preliminary flood damage estimates reached KZT 1 bln 185 mln.
As earlier reported, sudden warming and abundant precipitation caused intensive snow melting in the region. As a result, flood hit 12 districts, 226 population centres.
According to the recent figures, 610 houses in 30 population centres are still flooding. 7 houses were destroyed, 83 are under threat of destruction, 280 need repair and 240 homes are save to live in.
