Kazakhstan's Rybakina wins at the start of Qatar Open 2024

World No 4 Elena Rybakina overwhelmed Chinese Lin Zhu (ranked 57th) at the WTA 1000 – Qatar Open 2024 tournament in Doha, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan.
In the second-round match, Rybakina defeated Lin Zhu within 59 minutes and scored 6:2, 6:1.
In the third-round match she will face U.S. player Emma Navarro (ranked 23rd). Previously, Rybakina won over Navarro at the US Open 2019 scoring 6:1, 6:1.
The match will be held February 14.
The tournament’s prize money is $3.2 million. The winner will receive 1000 points and $523,000, while the finalist will get 650 points and $308,000.
