Russian & Ukrainian Black Sea fleets to stage parade jointly

SEVASTOPOL, May 9 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian Black Sea Fleet and the Ukrainian navy will mount a military parade jointly according to a tradition on Sunday, Itar-Tass learnt at the public relations centre of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

"Units of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, stationed in Sevastopol and Novorossiisk, conducted training of parade detachments from March, which will participate in the parade on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War," the public relations centre noted.

The parade of Russian and Ukrainian warships will be held this morning before the start of festivities ashore. The Russian fleet will be represented by the escort ship Pytlivy and the big anti-submarine ship Kerch. Two surface ships will participate in the parade from the Ukrainian navy.

According to the Russian Black Sea Fleet headquarters, "over 1,400 servicemen of the Sevastopol garrison will participate in the parade in Sevastopol.
