Some "emissaries" from central Asian countries had, since 2008, been illegally sent to Primorye, a federal subject of Russia, to promote a local radical group and recruit Muslims for training in Afghanistan and Pakistan, it said.

The FSB had been monitoring their activities and collecting evidence against them.

The leaders of the underground radical group were immigrants from Uzbekistan and had received training in foreign terrorism centers.

They were detained during an FBS operation and would be extradited back to their country under a court rule. Kazinform cutes Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
