Russian police seize 7 tons of sturgeon

KHABAROVSK. January 11. KAZINFORM Police in Russia's Far East have seized almost 7 tons of sturgeon, the fishing of which is banned under Russian law, a Khabarovsk Territory police spokesman said on Monday, Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

The fish, which are prized for their caviar, were discovered on Saturday in the vicinity of a house in of Podgornoye.

"During a search, 317 fish weighing more than 6.9 tons were found and seized," the spokesman said.
