Russia to deliver athletics worlds at "highest level": Putin

MOSCOW. July 29. KAZINFORM Russia will try its best to organize a "highest level" of world athletics championships in 2013, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Thursday. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
The prime minister made the remarks during his meeting with visiting International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) President Lamine Diack in Moscow.
"I want to assure that the Russian government and the Moscow mayor's office will do everything to hold the competition at the highest level," Putin told Diack.
He stressed that Russia has considerable experience on organization of competitions, adding that currently the country is preparing for both the 2013 Athletics World Championships and the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
On March 27, 2007, Moscow was chosen by the IAAF to host the 2013 Athletics World Championships, the first athletics worlds to be held in Russia. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com for full version
