"We continue helping our friends from the CIS states to train personnel for special and security services. I want to reassure you that we will do so in the future," he said at a meeting with chiefs of security services from the CIS states. He added that Russia would take into account the needs and wishes of the CIS states. The president noted that CIS security services faced a broad range of complex tasks to ensure foreign security and domestic stability and to combat drug trafficking, trans-border crime, illegal migration and terrorism. "We live in the times of changes, they are always characteristic of quite high tension," Putin noted, Itar-Tass reports. He noted that joint work in security could be done "realising that it can be effective only if efforts are pooled."
