Russia offers aid to U.S. in dealing with tornado aftermath

MOSCOW. April 29. KAZINFORM Russian President Dmitry Medvedev expressed his condolences to U.S. President Barack Obama over the tornadoes in the southern part of the United States and offered help in tackling the aftermath, the Kremlin reported on Friday. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
"I was deeply shaken by reports about the natural disaster which struck the southern states and led to numerous fatalities and destruction," Interfax news agency quoted Medvedev's statement as saying.
"We are ready to render any possible assistance to overcome the aftermath of this tragedy," it said.
The death toll from the catastrophic storms and tornados that swept through the southern U.S. states has risen to around 300 till Thursday. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
