Russia main space partner of Kazakhstan and cooperation is the priority – Nursultan Nazarbayev

At the event there was a discussion of issues relating to strengthening food security and measures for the space industry growth.

As for the second point the Head of the State recalled that the "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy is aimed at expanding the niche of Kazakhstan in the global market space and bringing some projects to being implemented.

For this purpose accurate planning of the governmental activities is needed in the field of space activities. It is important to set realistic goals identifying those segments of space movements which are the most interesting and popular in Kazakhstan.

T.Musabaev, the Chairman of the National Space Agency, informed about the status of the supervised sector, elaborated plans and difficulties been faced.

The participants talked about realization of specific space projects, cooperation with foreign countries in working out joint projects and training of manpower.

Nursultan Nazarbayev said that Kazakhstan had not only ambitious targets in the field of space activities but relevant economic and technical possibilities to use space technologies. However, as this sector is one of the world expensive industries it requires a systematic approach and state control.

Kazakh President challenged the government to provide the level of interagency coordination in the activities of state agencies involved in space projects.

It has been mentioned at the meeting that well trained personnel are needed for the effective space sector development. In recent years the leading technical universities of Russia and other countries have given education to plenty of Kazakh specialists. The government should ensure targeted use of such experts and create necessary conditions for them to work effectively.

Separate topic has been related to strengthening control over the efficient and targeted consumption of budgetary funds allocated for the implementation of space projects.

In general, after the meeting of the Security Council the President gave the government and relevant authorities a number of orders for food security and space industry development.
