Russia interested in promoting energy projects with Thailand - FM

BANGKOK. July 24. KAZINFORM Russia is interested in developing energy projects with Thailand, in particular in the sphere of refinery and trade with oil and gas, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told students of Chulalongkorn University on Friday; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.

"We are interested in promoting with Thailand such lucrative projects as the joint prospecting and development of energy resources, construction and servicing of oil and gas facilities, supplies of Russian hydrocarbons to Thailand, construction in the Kingdom of a regional Russian oil and gas storage refinery and trade base," the Russian foreign minister stressed.

"Our experts are ready to help in the implementation of Thailand's plans to create the national atomic energy industry," the top diplomat added.

According to Lavrov, Russia and Thailand have real possibilities for boosting economic cooperation. Last year trade between the two countries reached a high record of 3.82 billion dollars; Kazinform has learnt from Itar-Tass.
