Russia intends to consistently promote Eurasian process - Putin's address to Federal Assembly

KAZINFORM - Russia intends to consistently promote Eurasian process without opposing it to other integration projects as declared by Russian president Vladimir Putin in his annual address to the Federal Assembly of Russia today - on the day of the 20th year of the Russian Constitution.

"We are entering a crucial stage of preparation for the Eurasian Economic Union. We hope that by 1 May 2014, the text of the Agreement will be reconciled and submitted to the Parliaments of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan," - Putin said.

The Russian president was also positive about accession to the Customs Union by other countries - Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

"I believe that actual achievements of Eurasian integration will not only enhance our other neighbors' interest in it, including Ukrainian partners, - he said. - We do not impose anything."

"Our integration project is based on equality, on real economic interests. We will consistently promote Eurasian process without opposing it to other integration projects, including such a mature integration project as that with Europe, "- the Russian Federation's president said.

The address was aired at St. George's Hall in the Kremlin in the presence of about 1 100 people, among whom were MPs, government officials, heads of courts, regional governors, heads of traditional faiths, public figures, etc.
