Round table «Kazakhstan and the geopolitics of a multipolar world» held in Rome
During the round table the participants were presented with and discussed major foreign policy initiatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in particular the participation of our country in the process of global nuclear disarmament and the promotion of intercultural and interreligious dialogue, Kazakhstan's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2017-2018, "G-global" project and World Anti-crisis Conference, EXPO-2017 in Astana, integration processes and the signing of the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty. There were also raised questions on the interaction of various international organizations in countering new challenges and threats, as well as their role in crisis management.
The keynote address was delivered by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Italy Andrian Elemesov. In his speech the head of the Kazakh diplomatic mission noted that since independence, our country has established itself as a successful, competitive state with considerable political weight in the international arena. It was emphasized that the active involvement of our country in a large number of regional and global processes provides it with the knowledge and experience to address many of the issues facing world community.
Representatives of the Italian side in their speeches have also noted that Kazakhstan is a young nation, but in a very short period we have built a modern, stable and dynamically developing country with a strong economy and active foreign policy. Kazakhstan has established itself as a reliable international partner, and is a strong, stable, predictable and, to a large extent, influential country for cooperation with the Central Asian region.
