Rock group Brazzaville to give free concerts in Kazakhstan
Brazzaville was founded in 1997 by David Arthur Brown, a native of Los Angeles. Brazzaville's musical influences range from singer/songwriter Beck to Soviet 80's band Kino. The mix of cultures and musical traditions has produced a unique group which embodies the vibrancy and enthusiasm of the global village.
Brazzaville will be performing August 31 at the Palace of Culture in Karaganda, September 1 at the Palace of Peace and Concord in Astana, and on September 3 and 4 at the Guns and Roses Café in Almaty. The band includes David Arthur Brown (vocals, guitar), David Ralicke (saxophone, trombone), Kenny Lyon (guitar), Ivan Knight (drums), and Matthew DeMerritt (tenor saxophone, flute, keyboards, percussion, and melodic). Kazakhstani music students will have an opportunity to learn more about the band and rock music during master classes to be held in Astana and Almaty.
