Roberto Mancini agrees to head FC Lokomotiv for 6 million euro

ROME. KAZINFORM - Italian football manager Roberto Mancini agreed to head FC Lokomotiv Moscow for six million euro. The famous Italian manager, the bronze world medallist in 1990 and the bronze European medallist in 1988 have voiced this coaching offer at talks with the Russian football team, Italian electronic media said.

Mancini was earlier reported to deny Lokomotiv's initial offer, because he was not satisfied with proposed salary and transfer budget. He has made his offer which is unacceptable for Lokomotiv management yet. However, talks continue. Another Italian manager Luciano Spalletti was named as a candidate to be at the helm of Lokomotiv, but he still has a contract in effect with Zenit St. Petersburg, receiving high salary under its terms. So, Montenegrin manager Miodrag Bozovic currently coaching Russia's Premier League Rostov is considered as the most probable hopeful for Lokomotiv head coach, Itar-Tass reports. Belarusian manager Leonid Kuchuk was dismissed from the post of Lokomotiv coach, a source in Lokomotiv staff told ITAR-TASS on Monday. Igor Cherevchenko was appointed as acting head coach. Lokomotiv will play a derby with CSKA Moscow in the 8th round of Russian Premier League on September 21.
