Roads from Astana closed as snowstorms rip through the city

As of 03:30 p.m. December 29 all the roads from Astana are closed down due to high wind, slippery surfaces, drifting snow, mixed rain and snow for all vehicles, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The emergency situations department of Astana city urges all to avoid unessential trips and follow weather alerts and imposed restrictions.
Snowstorms, snowfall and wild wind gusting 23-28 m/s are in store today for the Kazakh capital.
On December 30-31 Astana will brace for blizzards, ice-slick, and wild wind gusting 15-20, locally 23-28 m/s.
