RK Parliament ready to continue close cooperation with Turkish deputies - K. Tokayev

ASTANA. October 8. KAZINFORM Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has met today with Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Turkish Republic Mehmet Ali Shahin who is paying an official visit to our country at present.

As the Senate's press service informs, at the meeting the parties noted dynamic development of bilateral relations between two countries which are based on commonality of history and cultural values and highlighted that strong interparliamentary ties were an important component in development of multi-vector partnership.

As K. Tokayev noted, Mehmet Ali Shahin's visit had become important and fruitful for exchange of views on the urgent issues of interparliamentary cooperation and harmonization of legislations and emphasized fruitful activity of the group of friendship Turkey-Kazakhstan.

Touching upon the issues of expansion of mutually beneficial partnership between two states K. Tokayev noted dynamic character of trade-economic relations.

The Parliament of Kazakhstan is ready to continue close cooperation with the Turkish deputies within the international parliamentary organizations including the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking countries, Tokayev said.

During the talks the Senate Speaker informed the Turkish side of the course of preparation for the forthcoming OSCE summit in Astana.

In turn, M. Shahin noted importance of the current visit of the Turkish delegation in strengthening the bilateral relations. The Head of the Turkish Parliament expressed gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan for contribution to the integration of the Turkish-speaking countries.
