Risks of oil spills be considered in Kashagan, NCOC

ATYRAU. March 22. KAZINFORM - In the Kashagan field possible risks of oil spills will be taken into account, said the director of External Relations of North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC) Pierre Delpon.
"Modern technologies and the advanced equipment suggest minimal risk of emergency cases. But at the same time we are ready for any surprise. The company has infrared analyzers to discover oil on the water, 20 miles of booms, 20 skimmers allowing to remove oil from water and ice, and other sorts of equipment, " said P.Delpon at the public hearings on the beginning of the upcoming production at Kashagan.
It should be reminded that these days the preparations for pilot development of the Kashagan field are in full swing, which is to begin in June. In the first stage the production will be 370 thousand barrels per day, and then the amount increase to 450 thousand barrels per day.
