Research and development financing must be increased to 60% - Kazakh President

ASTANA. June 16. KAZINFORM Financing of scientific research and development work must be increased from 20 to 60 percent of the total amount of funds injected into science. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev announced this on Thursday in Astana; the presidential press service told Kazinform.
"As you know, I have set a task to increase funding of science to the level of 1 percent of GDP by 2014. We now need to have a complete understanding of budgetary resources distribution. Innovative component of scientific research should be a high priority," the President emphasized.
