Rescuers use helicopter to help fisher stranded on Akkum half-island

KARAGANDA. KAZINFORM - Rescuers in Karaganda region have saved an unlucky fisherman stranded on Akkum half-island, officials say.
The 37-year-old man went fishing to Lake Balkhash and went missing on November 24. Regional authorities launched a massive search operation, but searches didn't give results. It turned out the missing fisher found shelter on Akkum half-island during a storm. Rescuers used Mi-8 helicopter to transport the man to the town of Balkhash on November 26.
