Republican Public Commission on Akims' Election Observation created

ASTANA. August 2. KAZINFORM In Kazakhstan started its finctioning the Republican Public Commission for observing elections of akims of district towns, rural districts, towns and villages.

This was announced yesterday at a press conference by the chairman of the commission, the head of the Central Council of the Veterans of Kazakhstan Omirzak Ozganbaev.

"Our committee has been officially registered, it has an office in Astana. Public Commission opened its headquarters, public reception and a telephone hotline - 55-72-96. We intend to visit the regions of our country to monitor voting process, " said O.Ozganbaev.

According to him, the committee consists of public figures: the chairman of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Nurlan Orazalin, president of the Club of Editors, a member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan Kenzhebolat Zholdybaev, president of the Association of Business Women of Kazakhstan Raushan Sarsembayeva, President of Kazakhstan center of humanitarian and political situation Esenzhol Aliyarov, Member of Kazakhstan People's Assembly, a board member of the Republican Uighur ethnic and cultural center of Kazakhstan Rachel Mahpirova, director of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan Ildar Katen, Director of the Expert Institute of European law and human rights Marat Bashimov, director of the project "Institute for Democracy" Julia Kuchinskaya, and the executive director of the Youth Congress of Kazakhstan Rollan Kuspan.

Already at this stage, as informed O.Ozganbaev, there is monitoring of purity of the electoral campaign based on the materials of the media. In addition, committee member Julia Kuchinskaya, a professional sociologist, will hold a sociological study of the attitude of the population to the election.

"Public Commission in its work plans to cooperate with all social groups and citizens interested in the organization of transparent and honest elections that meet international standards of electoral processes. We pledge to be impartial and objective. Following the elections, we will announce the results of our work ", concluded the head of the commission.
