Reps of OSCE HCNM, Kazakh People’s Assembly met

ANA. January 19. KAZINFORM Vice-Chair of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov has met with the representatives of the Office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities devoted to the discussion of the national agenda for both organizations during Kazakhstan's chairmanship in OSCE.

The OSCE delegation was represented by HCNM Senior Political Adviser Sabina Machl, Political Adviser Dmitri Alechkevitch and Project Coordinator Christian Knust.

The OSCE representatives were familiarized with Kazakhstan's experience in development of efficient system for interaction of state bodies with ethnic-cultural unions as well as the mechanism of implementation of the state national policy; considered the objectives and activity of Kazakhstan People's Assembly, its interaction with the HCNM and other OSCE structures.

Following the results of the event the representatives of the foreign delegation pointed out the important role of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan in maintenance of interethnic concord in the country; underlined the positive experience of the Kazakhstani model of tolerance which according to them is one of the guaranty for successful chairmanship in OSCE.
