Representative of FAO to Kazakhstan to be appointed soon - J. Diouf

E. November 5. KAZINFORM /Yernur Akanbay/ A representative of the UN Food and Agricultural Corporation (FAO) to Kazakhstan will be appointed soon. Director General of the Organization Jacques Diouf has announced it after a meeting with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Rome today.
According to him, the representative will help in realization of bilateral projects. "We will continue to interact with Kazakhstan within the Organization of Economic Cooperation. Kazakhstan is an important member of the organization in ensuring food security", he noted.
Kazakhstan-FAO cooperation was discussed at the meeting with N. Nazarbayev, J. Diouf said. "We decided to strengthen our cooperation with Kazakhstan since agriculture in this country develops rapidly", he stressed.
Bilateral cooperation will be activated in seed production, struggle with grasshoppers and inflectional viruses. "We admire Kazakhstan's efforts on providing humanitarian aid to the neighbor countries", J. Diouf said.
