Report of Gaddafi entering Algeria cannot be confirmed

ALGIERS. August 27. KAZINFORM A report saying that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi may have fled his country and entered neighboring Algeria by land cannot be confirmed by Algerian authorities on Saturday; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
An official from the Foreign Ministry hung up Xinhua's call after hearing the confirmation question. Xinhua's calls to the president office and information ministry were not answered.
Earlier in the day, the Egyptian news agency MENA reported that a convoy of six armored cars that could be carrying high-profile Libyan officials, even Gaddafi himself, crossed from Libya into Algeria on Friday, citing a source from the Libyan rebels; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
