Referendum is direct expression of Kazakhstanis' will - Vice President of Kazakhstan Koreans Association G. Kan
Mr. Kan is confident that the programs in the spheres of education and healthcare demonstrate that Kazakhstan strives for universal human values.
The professor reminded that for the first time the proposition on prolongation of the First Kazakh President's powers had been voiced out at the XVI session of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan in November 2010. "It is evident today that there is no another person able to lead Kazakhstan as Nursultan Nazarbayev. I think that holding the nationwide referendum is more expedient. The country should firmly move towards the goals set. This is the essence of the referendum", the Vice President of the Kazakhstan Koreans Association says.
In his opinion, Kazakhstan enters the New 2011 Year with significant growth. "Kazakhstan has successfully coped with its presidency in the OSCE as well as with organization of the top-level Summit of the OSCE in Astana. Adoption of the Astana Declaration has become one more proof of authority of the Kazakh President in the international arena. This year Kazakhstan faces a new challenge - chairmanship in the Organization of Islamic Conference. Our country combines Euro-Atlantic and Euro-Asian security in its foreign policy activity", he said.
G. Kan considers that 20 years ago all republics of the former USSR were on the same starting position and today they have various levels of development. To date Kazakhstan is a leading country of the Central Asian region which initiates new integration processes in the CIS. "The modern world sets new challenges and has new threats. On their background the multinational Kazakhstan demonstrates its inter-ethnic, inter-faith harmony and tolerance to the world. Our country is like an island of stability and welfare among our nearest neighbors. Many European countries are ready to adopt this experience", he stressed.
