Rectors of 98 CIS universities to gather in Astana

ASTANA. February 14. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ XI congress of the Eurasian Association of Universities is to be held in the Eurasian National University on March 9-10, Kazinform has learnt from Sholpan Tampayeva, Head of the web-representation of the university.
Rectors of the universities ? members of the EAU, representatives of trade unions and students organizations, deputies of the Kazakh Parliament, ministries and departments of RK will take part in the event.
The EAU congress is an annual event. It is a platform for elaboration and discussion of the recommendations on development of university education, improvement of the quality of specialists training and increasing efficiency of scientific researches.
The EAU is a non-governmental organization established in 1992 at the initiative of the Moscow State Lomonosov University. Today it unites 98 universities from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. The Association specializes on coordination and organization of joint works of universities on improvement of educational-methodical, scientific-research, cultural-enlightening and public activity.
