Rector of Kazakh National University Galym Mutanov awarded title of Knight of the French Order
This award was established in 1808 and is the oldest French award, awarded exclusively to civilians, citizens of France awarded for achievements in the national scientific and educational spheres, as well as foreigners for their significant contribution to the development of science and education.
On behalf of the Prime Minister of the French Republic the award was presented by Consul General of the French Embassy in Almaty Guillaume Narzhole.
Presenting the award, the French diplomat said about dynamism, enthusiasm and scientific achievements of G.Mutanov.
"At the international level he is known not only as a famous scientist, but also as a leading specialist manager, innovator and organizer of high school. He makes a great contribution to the world of scientific and educational spheres. Under his able guidance active are the Central Asian branch of the Monitoring Committee of the International Society for Engineering Education (IGIP), Kazakh Society for Engineering Education (KazSEE), National Academy of Higher Education of Kazakhstan. In addition, it is worth noting his membership in the Governing Board of the Institute of Information Technology UNESCO », said G.Narzhole.
Rector of the Kazakh University thanked the French guests for appreciating his work and reward, and expressed confidence in further successful and fruitful cooperation in the scientific and educational cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Kazakh National University after Al-Farabi is working closely with 10 leading universities in France, such as the Robert Schuman University, the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine, Lyon Institute of Catalysis and Environment, and others. Every year teachers and students of the educational establishment are trained and participate in scientific conferences and seminars in these universities, conduct joint research with foreign colleagues.
On the basis of Kazakh National University after Al-Farabi there was established a Kazakh-French scientific-educational center "Geoenergetika", which trains students in a joint master's and doctoral degree-granting of two countries in the field of geology and mining of energy resources.
