Rector of Belarusian State Economic University: Kazakh applicants to pass only interview to be admitted

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on the Kazakh-Belarusian cooperation in the field of higher education and expressed mutual desire to deepen and expand the educational component of bilateral relations.

Kazakh diplomat informed the Rector of the university of the state and prospects of Kazakh-Belarusian relations, making special emphasis on the most important foreign policy initiatives of Nursultan Nazarbayev. Rector invited to participate in the generated scientific and educational consortium between universities and research institutes in Kazakhstan and Belarus.

Rector of the Belarusian State Economic University reported that he closely followed the progressive development of Kazakhstan and he paid special attention to the study of Kazakh strategic documents. The Rector commended the program of the Kazakh leader called "Kazakhstan's "Strategy - 2050": a new policy established state" noting that it will allow the country to move confidently into the future and to achieve the stated goal of joining the 30 most developed countries of the world. He also stressed the historical role of President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the development of integration processes in the post-Soviet space. In addition, V.Shimov suggested the Kazakh side greater use of the institution for higher economic education, noting that applicants for admission from Kazakhstan are only to pass the interview in Russian.

The institution, founded in 1933 as a single training complex, is the largest center for training highly qualified personnel for all sectors of the economy. Today there are 11 faculties, part-time and evening forms of training in 106 professions and specializations, with over 23 thousand students from 29 countries of the world being taught. Many alumni have become prominent politicians, heads of ministries and departments, and renowned scientists including former Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Pavlov.
