Ratifying CNTBT Iran will prove peaceful purposes of its nuclear programs - Tibor Toth
"Having signed the Treaty Iran has gained a good opportunity to demonstrate peaceful purposes of its nuclear programs to the world community", T. Toth said at a press conference following the meeting with OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev in Astana.
According to him, all nine countries which have not ratified the Treaty have such opportunity.
Alongside, T. Toth stressed that ratification of the Treaty does not prohibit peaceful development of nuclear energy.
He said the Treaty had been signed by 182 member countries of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization and had been ratified by 153 countries.
"For enactment of the Treaty it must be ratified by nine countries. North Korea, India and Pakistan must sign it and we expect China, Israel, Egypt, Iran, Indonesia and the U.S.A. will ratify it", T. Toth noted.
