Ratification of CTBT by U.S. Senate to serve as example for other countries: K.Saudabayev
K.Saudabayev noted that to date the CTBT was signed by 182 countries and ratifies by 153 states.
"However, some of the world influential countries keep from signing and ratification of the Treaty. This allows official nuclear states continuing nuclear weapon tests, and threshold states - working on their missile and nuclear programs with impunity", K.Saudabayev said.
"Today we must joint efforts in convincing countries neither signed nor ratified the Treaty to do it", he said.
In this regard, K.Saudabayev expressed hope on that the U.S. Senate would ratify the Treaty submitted by President Barack Obama. He also appraised the decision of Indonesia to ratify the Treaty.
The Kazakh Minister also called the participants of the conference, all activist of the world process of nuclear weapons non-proliferation to mark the International Day against Nuclear Tests by practical activities.
