Ramadan - holy month of Muslims

ASTANA. August 6. KAZINFORM The whole Islamic world gets ready to welcome one of the greatest religious holidays - The Holy Month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. In accordance with one of the pillars of Islam the Muslims must fast from dawn to sunset during this period.
During Ramadan, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.
This year the Holy Month of Ramadan will last from August 11 up to September 8.
