Rains and thunderstorms to batter most of Kazakhstan through Thursday
Forecasters say a northwestern cyclone and associated fronts are likely to lash most parts of Kazakhstan with rains and thunderstorms on May 7, Qazinform News Agency reports.
According to the National Weather Service Kazhydromet, heavy rains, hail, and squalls are forecast for the country’s west and northwest.
Dry weather is predicted in the east and southeast of Kazakhstan. Strong winds are set to sweep over the country, stirring dust across northern and southern regions.
A high fire danger is set in place in Kyzylorda, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Ulytau, Abai, north, south, center of Turkistan, north, west, center of Zhambyl, north, center of Almaty, west, north, center of Zhetysu, south of Aktobe, southeast of Akmola, west of North Kazakhstan, west, northwest of East Kazakhstan regions.
A severe fire threat is set to persist in the southeast and south of Zhetysu region.
Earlier, Qazinform reported rainy conditions are forecast for much of Kazakhstan during the upcoming holidays.
