Rain and snow to batter Kazakhstan
Heavy downpours are expected today in the country’s southwest, while the southeast is set to brace for heavy snow and rain, Kazinform News Agency cites Kazhydromet.
Thunderstorms are forecast to strike the west, south, and southeast, while rain and snow are predicted to grip the mountainous districts in the southeast.
The north, and northwest of Kazakhstan are expected to enjoy warm and dry weather. Fog is reported to blanket the country’s north, northwest, and mountainous districts in the southeast.
The high fire threat is in place in Aktobe, Karaganda, Ulytau, Zhetysu, West Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl, East Kazakhstan, Abai, Mangistau and Kostanay regions.
The extremely high fire hazard remains in effect in Mangistau, Atyrau, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Karaganda, Ulytau, Turkistan, Abai, Zhetysu and Aktobe regions locally.
Earlier mets warned that rains will batter Kazakhstan midweek.
