Quake hits southeastern Taiwan

WASHINGTON. November 1. KAZINFORM A 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck the southeastern part of Taiwan late Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The quake -- about 28 miles south-southwest of Hualian, Taiwan -- was 9.3 kilometers deep, the survey said. There were no immediate reports of damage.
