Qatar participates in Arab League celebration of International Day for Biological Diversity

The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), took part in a special event organized by the General Secretariat of the Arab League at its headquarters in Cairo to mark the International Day for Biological Diversity, observed annually on May 22, QNA reports.

Qatar's participation reaffirms its commitment to supporting regional and international efforts aimed at protecting biodiversity and conserving natural resources, in alignment with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 - particularly in achieving sustainable development and environmental balance.

Assistant Director of the Wildlife Development Department at MoECC Khalid Jumaa Al Muhanadi, attended the event.

The celebration featured panel discussions and presentations that addressed key challenges facing biodiversity in the Arab region, while also highlighting successful initiatives and experiences in nature conservation and ecosystem sustainability.

Earlier, it was reported that Kyrgyzstan has advanced the mountain agenda at the COP to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity in Colombia.
