Putin urges prompt decision on gas prices for Belarus
"A decision has been taken that Russia sets a decreasing coefficient to calculate prices of Russian natural gas supplies to Belarus starting from 2012. The exact level of the decreasing coefficient should be defined by the economic entities of the both countries in the near future," Vladimir Putin said in a government session.
The decision to introduce a decreasing coefficient for gas prices for Belarus was voiced by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin after the session of the Union State Council of Ministers in Moscow on 15 August. Then Vladimir Putin stressed that when making this decision Russia presumed that the parties should work on the principles of equal competition within the framework of integration processes; Kazinform cites BelTA.
