Putin justifies different speeds of post-Soviet space integration

MOSCOW. August 16. KAZINFORM Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin believes that the existence of different speeds of integration in the post-Soviet space is justified. The Prime Minister of Russia made the statement when asked about whether the Union State of Belarus and Russia will develop after the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan are fully fledged; Kazinform refers to BelTA.

"In some things the Union State is clearly ahead of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space," said the Russian Premier. "In particular, the latter cannot address social issues that the Union State pays close attention to," Vladimir Putin remarked.

He also stressed that some decisions made within the framework of the Union State are later implemented in the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space. "They don't interfere but complement each other," Vladimir Putin is convinced.
