Protection of motherhood and childhood ? top goal of Kazakhstan

ASTANA. May 20. KAZINFORM. In the light of realization of the main provisions of the Kazakh President?s Address ?Through Crisis to Renovation and Prosperity? East Kazakhstan?s city of Semei will hold a conference titled ?Improvement of public activity in the sphere of protection of motherhood and childhood: socio-political, economic and legal aspects? on May 22-23.
The forum will be held under the auspices of the National Commission of Women Affairs and Family-Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan and Akimat of East Kazakhstan region.
Protection of motherhood and childhood is one of the most important strategic objectives of Kazakhstan?s politics. Making a speech at the V Forum of Kazakhstan Women President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that ?the state enhances social support of women and children, gives women an opportunity to participate in state management and takes measures for increasing their competitiveness at the labor market.?
Representatives of Kazakh state bodies, scientific community from Russia and Kyrgyzstan, institutes of civil society and international organizations will take part in the conference.
Among the speakers will be Kazakh Minister of Labor and Social Protection, deputies of the Majilis, Akim of East Kazakhstan region, Judge of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Committee for Protection of Children?s Rights of the Kazakh Education and Science Ministry, Permanent Representative of the UNDP to Kazakhstan, Coordinator of the UNFPA programs in Kazakhstan.
