Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan K. Mami met with legal officials of Bulgaria
As the Kazakh MFA's press service informs, K. Mami had a meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart Boris Velchev during which he informed the Bulgarian side of the major directions of development of criminal justice system in Kazakhstan, its role and place in the country's state policy.
In turn, Bulgarian side expressed interest in activation of bilateral interaction in legal and criminal spheres. The current visit of the Kazakh Prosecutor General to Sofia can give a strong impulse to it, B. Velchev noted.
Following the visit the parties entered into an Agreement on cooperation between Kazakhstan and Bulgaria Prosecutor General's Offices. The document provides for cooperation in fighting with terrorism, crime, corruption, transnational organized crime, traffic in humans, arms, drugs and psychotropic substances and other types of crime representing critical threat for the society. In conformity with the document the parties agree to provide legal assistance regarding criminal cases, exchange information and conducting joint consultations and researches.
Further development of the Kazakh-Bulgarian cooperation in legal issues was also discussed at a meeting of K. Mami with Chairman of Supreme Court of Cassation Lazar Gruev and Minister of Justice of Margarita Popova.
