Production of modern automobiles in Kazakhstan - the way to develop national automobile market

ALMATY. June 17. KAZINFORM /Sara Mustafina/ "Assembling South Korean off-road vehicles Ssang Yong is to be started in the end of June in Kostanay, on the base of AgromashHolding Kazakhstan JSC. This is one of the projects of the Forced Industrial-Innovative program", Director General of Allur Auto automobile companies Andrey Lavrentyev said to the correspondent of Kazinform.

The quality of the assembled cars in Kostanay will not differ from Korean ones. All equipment installed at the assembly complex is from Korea; the personnel was trained in Korea as well.

Acceptance procedures of finished cars will be carried by the South Korean experts.

According to the agreement more than one thousand cars are to be produced for the first year of work and by the end of the fifth year of joint efforts 7.500 cars are planned to be assembled.

President of JSC AgromashHolding Kazakhstan Din Kim said that all personnel of the complex would be employed and during the next five years 300 more new positions would be created. New High-Tech production is ready to contribute to the development of the region and of the country in general.

Presently about USD16 mln has been invested to the project and it is planned to increase the amount to 45 mln.

Production of Ssang Yong automobiles in Kostanay is a joint project of Kazakhstan and South Korea. The agreement between SsangYong Motor Corporation, Allur Auto automobile companies and JSC AgromashHolding Kazakhstan was signed within the framework of the Kazakh President' visit to South Korea in May.
