Prime Minister: Kazakhstan keen on establishment of New University of Astana as leading university of globe

ASTANA. April 7. KAZINFORM Today in the Ukimet Uyi Prime Minister Karim Massimov met with the representatives of international academic, scientific and business community - participants of the International conference on the strategy of development of the New University of Astana.

Among the participants are Principal of the Results for Development Institute of the USA Dennis de Tray, Honorary Professor of Physics of the Maryland University and Honorary Director of the Institute for Space Studies Roald Sagdeyev, Chairman of the Central Asian-Caucasus Institute, Professor of the School of Advanced International Technologies of Johns Hopkins University Frederick Starr, scientist-physician, Professor of the Aragon National Laboratory Zinetulla Insepov, Professor of the National University of Singapore Raj Rajagopalan, Chairman of Cambridge-Central Asia program, member of Jesus College, Professor of Physics of the Cambridge University Siddharth Shanker Saxena and others.

The participants exchanged views on the strategy of development of the New University of Astana as well as the activity of its international advisory council.

The Prime Minister noted that Kazakhstan was interested in establishment of the New University of Astana as a leading university of the world and emphasized the Government was ready to provide all-round support to its development. He also called on the foreign partners to continue active cooperation with Kazakhstan, the PM's press service informs.
