Prices for Internet access reduced by 27% since January

ASTANA. September 9. KAZINFORM The ceiling prices for primary access to the Internet were reduced in Kazakhstan in January 2012, the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan informed, according to Pm.kz.
The ceiling prices for primary access to the Internet for operators were reduced by 27% without regard to traffic and by 35% with regard to traffic, the press service of the Ministry reported.
Besides, operators jointly with the regional akimats provide free Wi-Fi access to the Internet in public places.
In accordance with the Ministry, Wi-Fi Internet is available in 406 public places, the number of access points is 1894, 1137 of them are free.
As the Statistics Agency informs, the number of Internet users increased from 15.1 to 50.6 per 100 people in the period from 2008 to 2011.
