Press conference devoted to Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in OSCE held in Sofia

Opening the press conference Charge d'Affaires of Kazakhstan in Bulgaria Temirtay Izbastin expressed gratitude to the Bulgarian side for the support in experience exchange concerning chairmanship in OSCE, pointed out principal priorities for Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the Organization and emphasized significance of confidence of the OSCE partners in Kazakhstan as well as high responsibility of the mission in this authoritative European security structure; the diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan in Bulgaria informed.

The press conference participants were demonstrated the inaugural video message of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and speech of OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Secretary of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev during the session of the OSCE Permanent Council on January 14, 2010.

During the press conference Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria Milen Lyutskanov pointed out the advance of Kazakhstani-Bulgarian relations in all spheres of cooperation including fruitful interaction within the OSCE. Chairman of the Parliamentary Group "For Friendship with Kazakhstan" Emile Dimitrov emphasized the importance of close interaction of the parliamentarians of both countries in the context of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

As a whole, the participants pointed out the apparent growth of Kazakhstan's role and authority on the international arena and wished success in implementation of set tasks during chairmanship in OSCE.

Deputies, well-known Bulgarian public figures, representatives of news agencies as BTA, Focus and Bulgaria News as well as Bulgarian national radio including eight printed sources took part in the event.
