President visits metallurgical site of Kazzinc's new copper plant

UST-KAMRNOGORSK. September 6. KAZINFORM /Ludmila Malko/ Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has visited a metallurgical site of the new copper plant of Kazzinc. The Kazakh President familiarized with a final stage of the new production - commissioning operations.

Kazzinc President Nick Popovic informed N.Nazarbayev of features of "New Metallurgy" project. 70,000 tones of copper will be mined since the production launching. The Kazakh President, in his turn, noted that over these years he monitors the enterprise's activity and appreciates things which the investor makes for Kazakhstan's economy. He noted that the city's ecology improved. N.Nazarbayev asked the employees about salary, working conditions.

Within the framework of the working trip to the region, the Head of the State will be acquainted with implementation of projects which are included in Kazakhstan's Industrialization Map and with the state of things in the real sector of economy.

The cost of "New Metallurgy" project makes up USD 783.2 mln.
