President urged Communication & Information Ministry to continue to expand electronic services

The President was briefed on the Ministry's current work on improving infrastructure for the "electronic government" and progress of automation of services provided by the state bodies to businesses. As the Minister informed, electronic help has been provided more than 800 thousand times so far.

N. Nazarbayev urged the Minister to continue work on expansion of electronic services, pay special attention to the systems of electronic licensing and simplify the procedure for obtaining permits by businessmen.

The issues of development of information space, including introduction of digital television were also discussed.

"According to the President's instruction it is necessary to launch digital television in Kazakhstan by the end of 2010. This will provide access to Kazakhstani TV-programs for all Kazakhstanis", A. Zhumagaliyev told journalists after the meeting.
