President Tokayev congratulates Pope Leo XIV on 1st anniversary of pontificate
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended his heartfelt congratulations on the first anniversary of His Holiness’s pontificate, Qazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
In the letter, the Head of State emphasized that the Pontiff’s consistent appeals for peace and renewed dialogue have powerfully reaffirmed the enduring mission of the Catholic Church to uphold human dignity and foster mutual understanding among peoples and faiths.
The President highly values the longstanding bonds of friendship and close cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Holy See, noting a firm commitment to further strengthening this relationship.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev renewed his invitation to His Holiness to visit Astana.
I am confident that this journey will enrich our relations and resonate across the wider region, the Kazakh leader said.
The President wished Pope Leo XIV sound health and continued success in his noble mission.
Earlier, Qazinform reported the Kazakh parliament on Friday approved the draft Constitutional law on the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the first reading.
