President Tokayev congratulates Kazakh judokas on historic World Championships success
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstan's judo team on its victory in the mixed team event and Gabit Rassulkhan, Fatima Supygalieva, and Adilzhan Zhaudinov on winning individual gold medals at the Guayaquil World Championships Cadets 2026 in Ecuador, Qazinform News Agency reports via Akorda.
The President wished the young champions further success and a bright future in the sport.
Kazakhstan wrapped up the championships with 11 medals — four gold, three silver, and four bronze — achieving its best-ever result at the tournament.
On Sunday evening, Tokayev spoke with International Judo Federation President Marius Vizer, who congratulated the President on Kazakhstan's historic performance at the world championships.
Tokayev thanked Vizer for his constructive cooperation with Kazakhstan's national judo federation and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, noting its contribution to promoting and developing judo in the country.
Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Kazakhstan had made history by winning the mixed team event at the World Cadet Judo Championships for the first time.
