President suggests People's Assembly of Kazakhstan launching its own TV program, newspaper

"The Assembly should study the issue of their own newspaper, and upgrade their website. It is needed to create a special program on television that will show different ethnic groups and tell about our national cultural centers. This can be done both at national and local television stations. I do not see any obstacles," the President emphasized.

Nazarbayev pointed out the necessity of strengthening tolerance through cultural and information activities. For example, the President believes that it would be interesting for the Kazakhstanis to watch movies about the life and fate of our countrymen, representing different ethnic groups.

"I know that Kazakhfilm studio is shooting a new film "Zheruyk" - The Promised Land, which tells about the tragic time of deportation of different peoples: the Germans, Koreans, Poles, Chechens, Kurds and others to Kazakhstan. I know that Russian theaters stage plays by Kazakhstani playwrights and vice versa. This should be encouraged," the Kazakh President noted.
