President's Address: Kazakhstan to improve pension system

ASTANA. January 28. KAZINFORM In his annual Address to the Nation presented on January 27, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev charged to improve the country's pension system.
"Improvement of the pension scheme is on the agenda. People should have a chance to influence the investment policy of pension funds," the President said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev commissioned the Government and National Bank to work out measures to upgrade the country's pension system.
Kazakhstan was the first among the former Soviet republics to introduce pension system. The number of contributors reached 8 mln so far, the volume of pension contributions hit USD 17 bln.
