President rejected Parliament's proposal to hold national referendum on constitutional amendments

ASTANA. January 7. KAZINFORM President Nursultan Nazarbayev has rejected the proposal of the country's Parliament on putting the amendments to the Constituion to the national referendum.
The President of Kazakhstan signed the Law on January 6, 2011. Kazinform disseminates the text of the Decree.
The Decree of the President of Kazakhstan 'On rejection of the proposal of the Parliament of Kazakhstan on putting the amendments to the Constitution of Kazakhstan to the national referendum.
In accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 91 of the Constitution of Kazakhstan I DECREE:
- To reject the proposal of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on putting to the national referendum the amendments to the Constitution of Kazakhstan initiated by the Parliament in accordance with paragraph 3) of paragraph 2 of Article 54 of the Constitution of Kazakhstan.
- This Decree enters into force from the day of its signing.
