President receives Chairman of Agency for Combating Economic Crimes & Corruption

R.Tusupbekov informed the President on the outcome of the agency's activity for the last 10 months. During the meeting Nursultan Nazarbayev pointed to lowering the country's position in the ranking of corruption perception index.

The President stressed that the forces of only one agency or a law enforcement body are not enough to eradicate corruption, systematic measures are required. "Every year economic and legal conditions are getting better. It is not necessary to perform artificially improved data, there should be real fight against corruption", said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The agency's Chairman spoke about the cooperation with a number of international and non-governmental organizations of Kazakhstan on combating corruption and said that the work in this fild will be continued. Tusupbekov also reported that the agency has improved performance in several areas of its work.

"Since the beginning of the year 1333 criminal cases were initiated against 900 persons who had committed crimes of corruption. In accordance with your instructions we have strengthened the fight against illegal trafficking of alcohol and crude oil. In general 4652 crimes have been revealed", said the Chairman of the Agency for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption.

In conclusion the President gave some specific instructions on the issues discussed.
